What is social networking?
Basically social networking is a online platform which facilitates us to build social relations such as sharing their interests, ideas, activities, pictures, events or real life connections with all those who are there in their network.
In words of Boyd and Ellison (2007), social networking sites are “web-based services that allow individuals to construct a public or semi-public profile within a bounded system, articulate a list of other users with whom they share a connection, and view and traverse their list of connections and those made by others within the system.”
Other than for individual communication purpose, social networking channels are also being widely utilized in the business arena in order to improve and run the business operations more efficiently.
The social networking channels are also proven to be one of the most effective and easiest ways for transmission of information within or outside the organization.
It has without any doubt become one of the most efficient channels in expanding the circle of contacts in terms of business, in expanding market reach, creating a communication platform with clients and even for advertising of products and services.
